Romantic comedy is a very popular genre, yet combining the highs and lows of a love story with jokes is a tricky business. This workshop will give you tips and ideas on how to write with emotion and humour – and hopefully make you laugh along the way.

Rhoda Baxter writes comfort reads with a dash of fun. She also writes multicultural women’s fiction under the name Jeevani Charika. Her books have been shortlisted for various awards. Rhoda loves all things science geeky. She also loves cake, crochet and playing with Lego. You can find out more about her (and get a free book by signing up to her newsletter) on her website www.rhodabaxter.com.

Jane Lovering writes books she describes as ‘dark psychological romance, with jokes’, but are marketed as rom com or women’s fiction. She’s won a few awards with them too. Jane is generally to be found covered in mud trying to find her dog or eating cake, both of which she says are ‘inspiration for writing’. She is lying. Find out more at : www.janelovering.co.uk

The course is held on-line and you can study in your own time during the month of the course. Any live events will be recorded for those unable to attend.
