About this event
‘Is This A Kissing Book?’
Are your characters unruly? Is your plot tying you up in knots? Are your subplots staging a coup? Is your pacing as uneven as a lame white stallion? Join bestselling, award-winning novelist and teacher Julie Cohen for a fun and interactive masterclass workshop in conflict, plot and pacing—using cult film ‘The Princess Bride’ as an example.
It will be a live course with plenty of time for individual questions, and opportunities for participants to reflect and work on their novel-in-progress. Although every writer is welcome to attend, the course is designed for people who are in the process of writing or revising a novel.
It is highly recommend that all participants take some time to watch The Princess Bride before the course. This is available on Amazon Prime and may be on other streaming platforms; or you may be able to borrow the DVD from your library. If you can’t get access to the film, it is recommended that you read the book The Princess Bride by William Goldman, which is very similar for course purposes.
Julie will be be providing some handouts after the course and a time-limited link to her PowerPoint slides.
