We’ve lined up a series of Romance Now Instagram Live interviews during Romance Reading Month 2022, to tie-in with the different themes each week. If you are not able to join live, don’t worry, as the interviews will be saved on the grid to watch whenever you like. During the month, Fiona Mountain will be chatting to:
Northumberland librarian, Michelle Watson, winner of the RNA’s Library or Librarian of the Year 2021.
Northumberland librarian, Michelle Watson, won the RNA’s Library or Librarian of the Year 2021, recognising the important work that libraries and librarians do in supporting the romantic fiction genre, and the RNA in particular. Michelle is a Reader Development Librarian with Northumberland County Council. She has worked there as a librarian since 2008; prior to this, she worked at Derwentside College, in the library, and with Durham County Council. She also worked in the library for the North East Religious Resource Centre in Durham. Michelle completed her degree at Stirling University, followed by an MSc in Information and Library Management with Northumbria University. She lives in Newcastle with her partner and daughter.
She has commented how: ‘Working with the Romantic Novelists’ Association has allowed Northumberland Libraries to provide such a fantastic variety of established and upcoming authors and bring them to our customers online throughout Northumberland and beyond. Over the past few years while Covid has meant we couldn’t meet in person, these events helped us to keep our customers company, and provided us an opportunity to work with such a fantastic range of authors.’
