Hazel Gaynor is a novelist and freelance writer who started writing in 2009 as a second career while raising her children. She initially wrote a successful parenting blog, and a book review blog for Hello magazine. Her writing has since been featured in The Sunday Times Magazine and Irish Times. She has some TV and radio experience (and prefers radio because she doesn’t have to worry about which shoes to wear).
Hazel was the recipient of the 2012 Cecil Day Lewis award for Emerging Writers. Her debut novel THE GIRL WHO CAME HOME – A Novel of the Titanic was published by William Morrow (HarperCollins) in the U.S, UK and Ireland in April 2014.
Hazel is a guest blogger and features writer for writing.ie and has interviewed Philippa Gregory, Sebastian Faulks, Katie Fforde, Jojo Moyes, Jo Baker and Cheryl Strayed, among others.
Originally from Yorkshire, Hazel now lives in Ireland with her husband, two children and an accident-prone cat.
