After I retired from my work as a probation officer, my husband and I moved to live on the Northumberland coast; we joined a writing group and began to write. I had several short stories published and read some of them on local radio.
In 2008 I lost my husband and mentor to the monster that is cancer, so to help fill the gap as I ploughed through grief I enrolled at university and after two years successfully completed an M. A, in creative writing.
I have completed my first novel and I’m currently busy with a second. Both are historical fiction. I have also written several short stories, which vary from football to life in the forties and fifties. Undeterred by lack of success with publishers, I carry on in the desire to produce stories for the future generations of my ever-expanding, lovely family.
