Monica Fairview writes Jane Austen sequels, variations, and Austen-inspired fantasy as well as Regency romance. She was first published by Robert Hale and Thorndike, then Sourcebooks, but now enjoys her autonomy as an indie writer. After obtaining a PhD in the USA, she taught literature for many years, then became an acupuncturist. Since returning to the UK, she has focused on writing.
Monica watches any period drama she can find. She enjoys reading just about everything, but avoids zombies like the plague. She loves to laugh, drink tea, and visit National Trust historic properties, and she is convinced that her two cats can understand everything she says.
She joined the RNA in 2008 through the New Writers’ Scheme.
