I won my first literary prize (!) when I was fourteen because, I think, my book was the longest in the class. I can’t believe it was the best – not a story about WWII (what did I know about that?) and a village of quirky characters trying to stop an army camp being set up on their village green. The main character was called Willy Wormtongue. Now I come to think of it, it was a good story. Perhaps I should rework it – if I can find it.
Life only allowed me to start writing again much later and since my first book, Perfect Score (a sweet m/m set in 1960s USA), I’ve had others published, including:
Hewhay Hall, a dark fantasy set in the UK. This won the 2013 EPIC award for Horror. Rising Tide, a romance suspense set in the Alentejo, Portugal and Forest Dancer, a romance suspense set in Sintra, in Portugal. In 2018 Joseph Barnaby will see the light of day. This is another romance suspense set in Madeira.
I live in Portugal, although I am British – blame my husband who’s Portuguese and exported me.
