Toni Sands was brought up in Wales. She always had her nose in a book but experienced a very different lifestyle after completing a secretarial course and leaving home to become a Butlin redcoat. She worked as a hotel receptionist and was employed in aviation before marrying and running a guesthouse where she learnt to love her Aga and bake cakes for village fetes as well as guests.
Life always brings the unexpected and Toni moved house several times before returning to the land of her birth in 2001.
Since completing her MA in creative writing, she has run workshops, written scripts and had novels and novellas as well as short stories published. She still loves cooking and enjoys reading other people’s books and watching tennis whenever possible.
Her alter ego, Jill Barry, writes romance that’s sometimes sweet and sometimes sassy and which is the kind of stuff she’d give her big sister to read. Both Toni and Jill are proud to be members of the RNA.
