RNA Industry Awards: Media Star Of The Year

13 October 2021

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the 2021 RNA Industry Award nominees. Media Star of the Year recognises journalists, bloggers, publicists, and TV or radio presenters who have helped raise the profile of romance writing and / or the RNA in a positive way.

Anita Faulkner
Anita Faulkner set up her Facebook group, Chick Lit And Prosecco, as a celebration of the genre and as a cosy space for romantic writers and readers to hang out and share their love of books. It has grown into a wonderfully supportive community. They hold regular live author chats and writing festivals, and Anita says it’s a fabulous way for authors to promote their work and find their superfans. The group and its fantastic members make her proud every single day. She also writes ‘warm and fuzzy romcoms’ from her upcycled bureau near the Cotswolds, and her debut novel, A Colourful Country Escape, will be published by Sphere in June 2022.

Rachel Gilbey
Since starting her popular blog, Rachel’s Random Reads, over six years ago, Rachel Gilbey has discovered just how much the book community means to her, and has even created her own ideal job of organising blog tours. She loves reading a wide range of genres, but particularly enjoys contemporary romantic fiction. She lives in London, which she says is useful for attending book events and indulging in her passion for West End musical theatre.

Kim Nash
Kim Nash is an author of uplifting, funny, heartwarming, feel-good, romantic fiction and lives in Staffordshire with her son, Ollie, and English Setter rescue dog, Roni. She is Head of Publicity for publisher Bookouture (part of Hachette UK) and is a book blogger at kimthebookworm.co.uk. When she’s not working or writing, and in non-Covid times, Kim can be found walking her dog at Cannock Chase, reading, writing, and binge watching box sets on the TV. She’s also quite partial to a spa day and a gin and tonic (not at the same time!). On a Tuesday night she hosts Book Chat with Kim Facebook Live chats where she interviews a women’s fiction author who has inspired her. She also runs Facebook Live panel and solo events on Bookouture’s Facebook page. In addition, she runs a book club in Cannock, Staffordshire, and organises local and national reader / author events.
