Emily Shelton Poole – Finalist In Indie Editor Of The Year Category
24 October 2022
American Indie Editor, Emily Shelton Poole, is a finalist in the Indie Editor of the Year category for the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s (RNA) annual Industry Awards for 2022. The awards celebrate the hard work and talent of any person, group or organisation who has championed the broad genre of romantic fiction in a positive way.
Emily says, “It is one of the joys of my life to work with authors and witness the transformation of good stories into great books. Being shortlisted for this award validates that work and makes me thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the behind-the-scenes process of bringing an author’s vision to life.”
Emily lives in the mountains of North Carolina with her husband, four children, and Lotte, the golden doodle who thinks she’s a person. In addition to her work as an editor, Emily plays viola professionally in most of the symphonies within a reasonable driving distance of her home and is working on a graduate degree in professional writing and rhetoric. Clearly, she doesn’t like sleep enough to say no to anything, but when she has free time, she loves to cook and bake and lives for the time of year when her “food life” can start over again in the spring. She is a slow runner of half-marathons, she has inexplicably well-muscled shoulders, and her house is almost always filled with music, to which she dances poorly but with great enthusiasm. Emily edits contemporary and historic romances and is beloved by her clients for impeccable story sense and kind, honest, and useful feedback.
The awards have been held for the past eight years and are highly respected in the UK publishing industry. The finalists are nominated by the full and probationary membership of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, with a panel of independent judges selecting the shortlists.
The award categories are: The Romantic Bookseller of the Year, Inclusion Award, Indie Champion of the Year, Library or Librarian of the Year, Indie Editor of the Year, Cover Designer of the Year, Narrator of the Year, Media Star of the Year, Agent of the Year, and Publisher and / or Editor of the Year.
The winners of the ten awards will be announced during the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Winter Party and Industry Awards ceremony, which is being held at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London City, 8-14 Cooper’s Row, London EC3N 2BQ, on Friday 11th November 2022 at 6.30pm.
