Congratulations to all the finalists in the Historical Romantic Novel category! For stories set in the past showing historic worlds, where romance forms a substantive and crucial part of the story. Romantic novels predominantly set pre-1980.

I am absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. When I joined the RNA’s New Writers Scheme many years ago, I never imagined that my work would achieve such recognition. I’m humbled and delighted that the reader-judges loved The Flame Tree. It’s a story very close to my heart.

I’m absolutely thrilled to be nominated for a Romantic Novel of the Year Award again! It’s such an honour. I’ve never won, and don’t expect to this time either, because just making the shortlist is fantastic. To know that the readers rated my book as one of the best historical romances of this year blows me away.
