19 May 2024

Congratulations to all the finalists in the Popular Fiction Romantic Novel Award category!

Helga Jensen for Fly Me to Paris:

When I heard that Fly me to Paris had been shortlisted for The Popular Fiction Award in the 2024 Romantic Novel Awards, I had goosebumps. I may also have screamed so loud with excitement that I woke the dog up! I am absolutely thrilled to be put forward for such a prestigious award and this is a dream come true. I can’t even begin to say how grateful I am to the wonderful readers who nominated Fly me to Paris! I may write 80k word novels, but there truly are no words that can describe how I am feeling right now! I am over the moon and very much looking forward to the award ceremony and wish everyone the best of luck.

This is an incredible honour and I am so thrilled especially as I have been nominated for this award by the people I write for- the readers, bloggers and reviewers. That means the world to me and is beyond everything I ever expected when I started this belated, new career.

Emma Denny for One Night in Hartswood:
It feels incredible to be shortlisted for the Popular Fiction Award with the RNA, especially for my debut novel. I’m so incredibly proud of One Night in Hartswood and it’s an honour to be shortlisted, and I’m extremely thankful to all the readers, reviewers and librarians who loved and nominated Hartswood. I’m thrilled that queer romance is becoming more and more popular, and am excited to see what happens with the genre in the future.

Veronica Henry for Thirty Days in Paris:
Thirty Days in Paris was a very special book to write as the city has so many wonderful memories and I loved taking my heroine to all the places that mean so much to me. I’ve been delighted with the response from readers who share my passion for what is arguably the most romantic city in the world, so I’m thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Popular Fiction Award. Where better to fall in love?
